For all classic Amigas with 1MB chip + 512K other RAM

GULLIVER

You take over the role of Gulliver - a cheeky seagull with a special way of eliminating his enemies. Gulliver is a hungry bird, and enemies can provide food. Gulliver is not in a particularly good shape, and often needs to rest in a safe place in order to regain stamina. He sure could use some help fighting those enemy birds. How high can you fly on the high score list?

'Gulliver' is not meant to offer deep, hour-long entertainment. It's a quick little action game you can put on when you have a bit of spare time.

FEATURES:

  • Simple shooter/platformer with 9 levels
  • Beautiful pixel art and animation
  • High quality sound and 4 original soundtracks
  • All assets crafted by the author without use of AI

Can be booted from floppy or installed to HDD.
Made for the 68000 CPU - only slightly better FPS on faster Amigas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 MB chip RAM mandatory
  • 512K other RAM (or more chip RAM)
  • Standard 1-button controller

RECOMMENDED:

  • FAST RAM (not trapdoor). Improves FPS in certain places
  • Hard drive for reduced loading times
  • A real joystick. Easier to control than with gamepad
  • Writable media for saving high scores

HDD INSTALLATION:

Copy the 'Gulliver' folder to any location.
From Workbench, at least 900K chip + 512K other RAM must be free.
If the requirements are not met, the game will not start or may crash unexpectedly.

WINUAE TIPS:

Set both CHIP and FAST RAM to 1 MB or more. Avoid 'slow RAM'.
The controls can be difficult with keyboard or gamepad - joystick recommended.

You might want to enable 'Subpixel display emulation' in the 'Chipset' section. This will hide the 1 pixel copper to the left.  This setting requires a bit more CPU power.

GAMEPLAY:

Locate and shoot the enemy birds, and pick up the food from the ground. When you've attained 10 pieces of food, you can exit at the right end of the map, or stay on the level for 30 more seconds. Within these 30 seconds, you can improve your score by shooting as many birds as possible. When the timer expires, you'll advance to the next level.

When your score is high enough, you'll earn extra lives (max 5). Your stamina decreases slowly when moving in the air, except when floating downwards.
Stamina regains when you're grounded. When your stamina gets low, you'll hear an alarm, and you'll have to find a safe spot to regain your stamina.
If you're completely out of stamina, you'll fall from the air and possibly get hurt by enemies on the ground - or die, if you fall too deep.

If the health bar is less than max, a yellow bird may appear now and then. Shoot it, and you'll get more energy.

Pressing F9 will quit the game. Click the images to see the game in motion

ISSUES

If you're experiencing graphics corruption or crashes when running the game from a real floppy, it's most likely because of a corrupted floppy disk.

The game is thoroughly tested, and should work on any Amiga meeting the requirements. However, it cannot be guaranteed to work on any configuration, and minor flaws cannot be ruled out. If your configuration meets the stated requirements, and the game still does not work as expected, please refer to the ReadMe file on the game disk, which contains an email address for support.
